Jalen Green, who has sat out the Suns’ past three games after feeling tightness in his right hamstring last week, is expected to be available again for Friday’s matchup in Cleveland, according to Duane Rankin of The Arizona Republic.
Green has only appeared in four games this season because of recurring issues with the same hamstring strain that first occurred during training camp. Rankin notes that he does not appear on the injury report for tonight’s game.
The former No. 2 overall pick had an MRI over the weekend that showed no new damage.
He originally missed the opening eight games of the year due to the strain, then was sidelined for another 33 straight games after aggravating it again on November 8.
Green returned to the court on Jan. 20 after that long layoff, but the tightness resurfaced in just his second game back.
Over his first four NBA seasons, all with Houston, the 23-year-old averaged 20.0 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 3.3 assists while shooting .422/.343/.799 in 307 games, logging 32.7 minutes per night.
After being traded to Phoenix last summer in the Kevin Durant blockbuster, Green has put up 11.8 points, 1.8 rebounds, and 2.0 assists on .432/.421/.778 shooting in only 13.5 minutes per game this season.
