Jalen Brunson left Wednesday night’s 124–107 loss to the Orlando Magic after suffering a right ankle injury late in the fourth quarter. The New York Knicks guard went down with just under two minutes remaining and did not return.
Head coach Mike Brown confirmed after the game that Brunson had turned his ankle but said he had no additional information regarding the severity of the injury.
“He turned his ankle,” Brown told reporters. “That’s all I know right now. We’ll get it looked at and see where he’s at.”
Following the game, Brunson was spotted exiting Madison Square Garden wearing a walking boot on his right foot and using crutches, an indication that the team is taking a cautious approach until further evaluation is completed.
Before the injury, Brunson was having another standout performance, finishing with 31 points and six assists while shooting efficiently from the field.
