Toronto Raptors big man Jakob Poeltl appears to be trending toward a possible return after missing significant time with a lingering back issue.
Poeltl has been sidelined since December 21 by discomfort that had persisted throughout the season, but he practiced with the team on Saturday and is officially listed as questionable for Sunday’s game, according to Josh Lewenberg of TSN.ca.
When asked about the nature of the injury, Raptors starting center was cautious about sharing specifics, though he made it clear that his condition has improved.
“We saw a lot of doctors about it. To be honest, I don’t want to get into too much details about it,” Poeltl said, per Michael Grange of Sportsnet.ca.
“The point is I’m feeling better now. I did a couple different treatment options. So, yeah, I’m glad to be feeling better.”
Poeltl also addressed the trade speculation that surrounded him in the days leading up to Thursday’s deadline.
According to Ryan Wolstat of The Toronto Sun, the veteran center said he wasn’t distracted or bothered by seeing his name frequently mentioned in rumors, remaining focused instead on his recovery and getting back on the court.
