Detroit Pistons forward-center Isaiah Stewart has been suspended seven games for leaving the bench and joining an on-court fight, the NBA announced Wednesday.
Executive vice president of basketball operations James Jones said the length of the suspension reflects Stewart’s prior history of unsportsmanlike conduct.
Charlotte Hornets forwards Miles Bridges and Moussa Diabate each received four-game bans for escalating the altercation, while Pistons center Jalen Duren was suspended two games for starting it.
The incident took place with 7:09 remaining in the third quarter of Detroit’s February 9 win at Spectrum Center, after Diabate fouled Duren.
All four players were ejected and assessed technical fouls. The suspensions are effective immediately.
Stewart and Duren will miss Detroit’s game against the Toronto Raptors at Scotiabank Arena, while Bridges and Diabate begin serving theirs when Charlotte faces the Atlanta Hawks.
