Isaiah Stewart seeks bigger role from deep

Isaiah Stewart is aware of how badly the Detroit Pistons need more shooting from beyond the arc, as Hunter Patterson of The Athletic explains.

Over the 2022/23 and 2023/24 campaigns, he launched a combined 380 three-pointers, but last season that number dropped significantly to just 53 attempts, where he connected on 32.1%.

Patterson points out that during the offseason, both Stewart and head coach J.B. Bickerstaff talked about making sure his shot volume from deep rises again.

Even though he has only taken three three-point shots through the first two preseason games, he managed to knock down two of them, showing signs of confidence.

With Detroit lacking reliable shooting, especially from their big men, his readiness to shoot from long range adds a new dynamic.

If he continues to step into those attempts without hesitation, his outside presence could stretch defenses and give the offense a much-needed boost.

Stewart has played 5 seasons for the Pistons. He has averaged 8.6 points and 7.1 rebounds in 307 regular-season games.
