Ireland head coach Andy Farrell insists Sam Prendergast has “earned the right” to start at out-half against Australia this morning.
The 23-year-old has been given the 10 shirt for their Nations Championship in Sydney against Joe Schmidt’s Wallabies.
Prendergast endured a challenging season, where he lost his place in the Ireland team to Jack Crowley during the Six Nations, and was behind Harry Byrne at Leinster for big games in Europe.
