Ingram’s clutch plays lift Raptors past Hornets

Brandon Ingram scored 27 points and RJ Barrett added a go-ahead basket with 18 seconds left as the Toronto Raptors held off the Charlotte Hornets 110-108 on Monday at Scotiabank Arena.

Scottie Barnes contributed 16 points and recorded a key block on the final Hornets possession, while Immanuel Quickley added 15 points and 10 rebounds in Toronto’s fourth straight win, improving to 9-5.

Ingram energized the crowd with a highlight dunk over rookie center Ryan Kalkbrenner in the fourth quarter and later blocked Kalkbrenner to preserve the lead. Barrett’s late jumper gave the Raptors a slim advantage, and Barnes sealed the victory with a buzzer-beating block on Collin Sexton’s putback attempt.

Jakob Poeltl scored 13 points and Gradey Dick added 10 off the bench, providing depth scoring for Toronto.

Charlotte was led by Kon Knueppel’s 24 points, Miles Bridges’ 22, and LaMelo Ball’s 20 points. Sexton added 17 points, while rookie Kalkbrenner grabbed 10 rebounds. The Hornets fell to 4-10 and 1-6 on the road.

Charlotte struggled from beyond the arc, hitting just 10 of 40 three-point attempts, their lowest rate of the season. Toronto shot 50% overall, including 40% from three, and converted 12 of 16 free throws.

Toronto will visit Philadelphia on Wednesday, while Charlotte travels to Indiana for its next matchup.
