The Charlotte Hornets brought back veteran guard Pat Connaughton on Monday, adding depth to a roster that has undergone major changes since the NBA trade deadline.
Connaughton, 33, had been waived on February 4 to clear a roster spot after Charlotte acquired Tyus Jones in a series of deadline transactions. The veteran wing returns less than a week later, giving the Hornets another experienced perimeter option as they continue a push toward the Eastern Conference play-in race.
The former Milwaukee Bucks guard has appeared in 22 games for Charlotte this season, averaging 2.9 points and 1.4 rebounds in 7.0 minutes per game while shooting 40.7% from three-point range. Although largely outside the regular rotation, his shooting profile fits a team that relies on spacing around primary ballhandlers like LaMelo Ball and Coby White.
Connaughton was first acquired by Charlotte in a July 2025 trade with Milwaukee after seven seasons with the Bucks, where he won an NBA championship in 2021. His role has shifted toward situational minutes, but his experience remains valuable on a roster filled with young wings and developing forwards.
Charlotte enters the week riding a nine-game surge and holding the 10th spot in the East at 25-28, placing them firmly in the play-in mix.
