New Orleans Pelicans forward Herb Jones has been diagnosed with a mild right calf strain and is expected to miss multiple games, per Michael Scotto. The 27-year-old, a key two-way player for New Orleans, will be re-evaluated in approximately one week.

Jones has been averaging 9.5 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 2.3 assists in 30.3 minutes per game across 16 contests this season. He leads the team in steals with 1.4 per game.

The Pelicans are struggling through a 3-15 start, making Jones’ presence particularly valuable for both defensive stability and secondary scoring. His absence will place additional pressure on Zion Williamson, Trey Murphy III, and Jordan Poole to maintain production on both ends of the floor.

Jones’ versatility allows him to guard multiple positions while contributing offensively through mid-range jumpers and occasional three-point shooting.

Jones’ contributions this season have included 1.6 steals per game, 3.6 turnovers, and 3.8 rebounds per game.
