The Atlanta Hawks have rewarded guard Keaton Wallace with a standard NBA contract, converting his two-way deal into a full one-year agreement, according to NBA insider Shams Charania.
Wallace, 26, went undrafted in 2021 after a standout collegiate career at UTSA but has since built a steady professional résumé through the G League and limited NBA stints. His persistence has now earned him a full-time roster spot in Atlanta.
Since joining the Hawks on a two-way deal in July 2024, Wallace has provided depth and energy in the backcourt. Appearing in 31 games this season, he has averaged 5.4 points, 2.6 assists, and 1.6 rebounds in 16.2 minutes per game while shooting 40.1% from the field and 32.9% from three-point range.
Wallace’s best performances this season have demonstrated his growth as a playmaker. He recorded a career-high 27 points in a win against the Chicago Bulls on January 15 and posted his first triple-double on April 13 against the Orlando Magic, finishing with 15 points, 11 rebounds, and 15 assists.
Before landing in Atlanta, Wallace spent time in the Los Angeles Clippers’ organization, signing a two-way contract in 2023 before returning to their G League affiliate, the Ontario Clippers.
In 2024, he joined the College Park Skyhawks, where he averaged 16.1 points, 5.2 assists, and 4.8 rebounds in 13 games while shooting 44.1% from the field and 38.6% from deep.
His consistent G League production, combined with efficient perimeter shooting and defensive intensity, helped him earn the Hawks’ confidence. The team has relied on Wallace as a reliable secondary ball-handler capable of initiating offense and defending multiple guard positions.
