The Phoenix Suns and Memphis Grizzlies both enter Wednesday’s game at the Mortgage Matchup Center with several key players listed on the injury report. Memphis sits at 2–2, while Phoenix looks to avoid a fourth straight loss after dropping three consecutive road games.
For the Grizzlies, forward Santi Aldama is questionable with left shoulder soreness. Vince Williams Jr. also carries a questionable tag due to right ankle impingement. Memphis remains without Brandon Clarke (knee surgery recovery), Zach Edey (ankle surgery recovery), Ty Jerome (right calf strain), and Scotty Pippen Jr. (toe surgery recovery).
Ja Morant continues to lead Memphis offensively, averaging 22.3 points and 6.5 assists across four games. Jaren Jackson Jr. adds 17.5 points and 5 rebounds per game, while Cedric Coward, one of the team’s emerging contributors, has averaged 16.5 points off the bench.
The Suns’ situation is similarly uncertain. Dillon Brooks will miss the game with right groin soreness, and Jalen Green is questionable with a right hamstring strain. Two-way players Koby Brea and CJ Huntley will remain unavailable as they continue assignments in the G League.
Devin Booker has been the Suns’ main offensive engine, averaging 28.5 points and 6.8 assists in four appearances. Grayson Allen supports with 17.5 points per game, while Royce O’Neale contributes 11.8 points and 6.5 rebounds. Mark Williams, who averages 9.3 boards, has provided reliable interior play.
Phoenix has struggled to close out games early this season, losing in overtime to Utah after allowing 138 points. The team’s only win came in its home opener against Sacramento, where Booker scored 31 points.
Memphis, meanwhile, seeks its first road victory. The Grizzlies split their first four games, highlighted by a dominant 128–103 home win over Indiana, where rookie Cedric Coward scored 27 points.
Both teams will rely heavily on their backcourt play. If Aldama and Williams sit, Memphis may need extended minutes from Jaylen Wells and Javon Small. Phoenix could look to Collin Gillespie and Ryan Dunn to fill in if Green remains sidelined.
Tip-off is scheduled for 10 p.m. ET at the Mortgage Matchup Center in Phoenix. The matchup marks the first meeting between the two Western Conference teams this season.
