Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo acknowledged that preseason predictions have the team under the radar this season. Speaking Sunday, he said, via Eric Nehm of The Athletic, “We’re not the favorites. But we’re going to be a problem. We’re going to be dangerous.”

Giannis highlighted the roster’s strengths, noting the team’s depth on both ends. “We have a lot of shooters. We have a lot of playmakers and ballhandlers. We have a lot of defenders. We can switch,” he said.

The Bucks’ frontcourt features Myles Turner, whose versatility and spacing ability Giannis praised. “We have an incredible big that can space the floor and be a problem defensively,” he added.

Antetokounmpo stressed that the team is focused on short-term goals before looking at championship aspirations. “Our goal is Wednesday. After that, stay healthy and get to the playoffs, be in the playoffs and try to win a playoff series,” he said.

Milwaukee enters the 2025–26 season with a mix of veterans and emerging talent. Alongside Giannis and Turner, the roster includes Kyle Kuzma, Gary Trent Jr., A.J. Green, Andre Jackson Jr., and Cole Anthony, giving coach Doc Rivers flexibility in rotations.

The Bucks have gone 3–1 in the preseason. Giannis recorded 10 rebounds in a win against the Bulls and contributed across the board in other games.

In the postseason, Giannis has consistently carried Milwaukee, averaging 27 points, 12 rebounds, and 5 assists in playoff action over his career.

Antetokounmpo also emphasized the importance of team health and chemistry. “We’re set up exactly how you need to make a statement,” he said, signaling confidence in the roster’s ability to compete when fully healthy.

The Bucks open the regular season at home on October 22 against the Washington Wizards.
