Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo will miss one to two weeks after sustaining a low-grade left groin strain, NBA insider Shams Charania reported on Tuesday. The two-time MVP is currently the only player in the league averaging at least 30 points and 10 rebounds this season.

The injury occurred during Monday’s 118-106 loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers, when Giannis exited with 3:03 remaining in the second quarter. He had already recorded 14 points on six-of-ten shooting, five rebounds, and four assists in 13 minutes before leaving the court.

Bucks head coach Doc Rivers said the strain began in the first quarter, with Giannis grabbing his groin multiple times before finally exiting the game. “Didn’t look great, I can tell you that. We’ll know more tomorrow,” Rivers said ahead of the scheduled MRI.

Giannis is averaging 31.2 points, 10.8 rebounds, and 6.8 assists per game over 13 contests this season. His absence leaves a significant gap in Milwaukee’s lineup, as he leads the team in scoring and rebounding while the Bucks hold an 8-7 record.

Despite Giannis’ injury, the Bucks have seen contributions from other starters, including Ryan Rollins (17.4 PPG, 3.7 RPG) and Kyle Kuzma (13.3 PPG, 4.4 RPG). Myles Turner adds 12.3 points and 6.3 rebounds per game, offering size and rim protection in his role.

Milwaukee faces Philadelphia on Nov. 20 and Detroit on Nov. 22 before returning home for a series of games later in the month. The team will rely on its supporting cast to maintain competitiveness in the Eastern Conference without their superstar.
