Giannis Antetokounmpo emphasized accountability following the Milwaukee Bucks’ 126–110 victory over the Chicago Bulls on Friday in an NBA Cup matchup.

“This year is not the year of excuses,” Giannis said, via HoopsHype, stressing that travel, back-to-back games, or fatigue cannot justify poor performance.

The Bucks, now 6–3 on the season, faced a challenging early schedule but remain committed to consistency. Giannis’ comments underline the team’s focus on maintaining high standards and executing against every opponent, particularly in competitive NBA Cup games.

Milwaukee’s win over the Bulls featured a dominant performance from Antetokounmpo, who posted 41 points, 15 rebounds, and nine assists. His leadership helped the Bucks overcome Chicago’s efforts and secure a decisive victory.

Giannis highlighted the importance of energy and focus in every matchup. “Good teams don’t lose two in a row. At the end of the day, we know that we have one goal against Toronto,” he said, referencing the significance of upcoming games against top Eastern Conference opponents.

Supporting contributors Ryan Rollins and Kyle Kuzma continue to provide scoring balance, averaging 16.7 and 12.6 points per game, respectively. Their contributions complement Giannis’ dominant play and help the Bucks navigate a demanding schedule.

Milwaukee’s early-season challenges included narrow losses to Sacramento and Toronto, but the team responded with strong showings in the NBA Cup and other key contests.
