Cam Payne’s playing time and role with the Indiana Pacers are uncertain.

The Former Knicks guard signed with the Pacers late in the offseason, during training camp, after waiving the injured guard Delon Wright.

Payne has been acquired for replacement and will take the final spot on their roster to suit up for the 2025-2026 season.

While the veteran guard is on the free agency market, a Serbian club team has expressed interest in acquiring him, according to Marc Stein.

The 31-year-old became one of the NBA players in the free agency who have shown interest in competing overseas.

One notable instance is the former Mavericks guard Spencer Dinwiddie, who recently signed with German club FC Bayern Munich after being waived by the Charlotte Hornets before the NBA season.

In 2020, Payne was also placed in free agency and was set to join the Phoenix Suns, but was traded to the Milwaukee Bucks in the final season of his contract after four seasons, followed by a stint with the Philadelphia 76ers.

He competed last season with the New York Knicks, where he appeared in 72 games, averaging 15.1 minutes on the court and shooting 40% from the field with 6.9 points, 2.8 assists, and 1.4 rebounds per game.
