Dublin are through to the All-Ireland football quarter-finals after a dramatic 2-26 to 2-22 extra-time victory over Donegal at Croke Park.

Colm Basquel starred with seven points, while Con O’Callaghan and Paddy Small both found the net as Ger Brennan’s side produced their biggest win of the season.

Donegal forced extra time thanks to a late Michael Murphy two-point free, but Dublin finished the stronger to book a last-eight meeting with either Cork, Galway or Tyrone.

The defeat brings Donegal’s championship campaign to an end and means both Ulster finalists are now out of this year’s All-Ireland series.

Meanwhile in Clones, Monaghan have knocked Westmeath out of the championship.

They progress on a score of 1-28 to 2-19.
