Miami Heat sharpshooter Duncan Robinson is set to enter free agency after declining his $20 million early termination option, according to a report by Shams Charania.

Robinson, 31, will now explore longer-term contract options either to remain in South Florida or pursue opportunities with another franchise via free agency or a sign-and-trade arrangement.

The move comes at a pivotal time for the Heat, who finished the 2024–25 season with a 37–45 record and secured the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference before being swept in the first round by the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Robinson played in 74 regular season games for Miami this year, averaging 11.0 points, 2.4 assists, and shooting 39.3% from three-point range in 24.1 minutes per contest.

He was a key contributor off the bench and continued to be one of the league’s most consistent perimeter threats, converting 2.6 threes per game on 6.5 attempts.

Over the course of his five-year, $90 million contract signed in 2021, Robinson carved out a niche as a reliable floor spacer, particularly in the Heat’s multiple playoff runs.

Though his postseason role diminished in recent years, he remained part of Erik Spoelstra’s rotation during the 2025 playoffs, appearing in all four games against Cleveland and averaging 4.3 points in 14.8 minutes.
