Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green believes Stephen Curry is on track to make NBA history this season.

Speaking on The Draymond Green Show, the veteran forward predicted that Curry will become the first 38-year-old player ever to win the league’s Most Valuable Player award.

“And for the MVP award — I don’t know that we’ve ever seen it done before, but if we have, excuse me and I apologize — but I don’t think we’ve ever seen a 38-year-old win the MVP award. And I think Steph Curry is gonna make a run for it,” Green said, via HoopsHype.

He went further, declaring his confidence in the Warriors’ season outlook.

“My MVP — we’re gonna have a great year — and he gonna keep doing what he doing. Steph Curry about to take home his third MVP this season.”

Curry, who has opened the 2025–26 campaign in elite form, is averaging 27.0 points, 5.0 assists, and 3.8 rebounds per game through Golden State’s first five contests. The two-time MVP has led the Warriors to a 4–1 record, including wins over the Lakers, Nuggets, and Clippers.

His 42-point performance in an overtime victory against Denver reinforced his early MVP case, as the Warriors displayed renewed chemistry following the addition of Jimmy Butler and the emergence of Jonathan Kuminga as a consistent scoring option.

Green also spoke about his personal goals, emphasizing longevity and a desire to compete at the highest level despite being one of the league’s oldest active defenders.

“To see my name and age next to them young guys — like don’t get me wrong, I still think I’m the best… I want to put my name back in the hat again for Defensive Player of the Year… and more importantly than all, I want to win another championship this year.”

The 35-year-old forward has averaged 9.4 points, 7.2 assists, and 5.8 rebounds per game so far, continuing to anchor Golden State’s defense while facilitating the offense alongside Curry.

Golden State next faces the Milwaukee Bucks on October 30 in one of its toughest early-season road tests.
