Draymond Green described guarding Victor Wembanyama as “so f**king tiring,” comparing the experience to defending Stephen Curry. “If you relax for one second… once he raises up to shoot, you can no longer affect the shot,” Green said.

The Golden State Warriors narrowly defeated the San Antonio Spurs 109-108 at Frost Bank Center on Friday, powered by Curry’s season-high 49 points and clutch free throws in the final six seconds. Golden State improved to 8-6 and claimed the NBA Cup with a sweep of San Antonio’s two-game series.

Wembanyama scored 26 points, pulled down 12 rebounds, and added four assists with three blocks, but his performance fell short in the tightly contested matchup. De’Aaron Fox contributed 24 points and 10 assists for the Spurs, while Julian Champagnie added 14.

Curry shot 16 of 26 from the field and made nine of 17 three-pointers, asserting his scoring dominance throughout the contest. The Warriors overcame an early deficit with a 30-point third quarter that shifted momentum in their favor.

The game’s physical intensity was evident, with Green and Wembanyama being separated three times during a fourth-quarter inbounds scramble. Wembanyama’s alley-oop dunk was waved off for a foul on Green, who then fouled out seconds later, highlighting the matchup’s edge-of-seat competitiveness.
