Dingle, Spa and Kenmare progress in County Senior Football Championship

Dingle are through to the ¼ finals of the Garvey’s SuperValu County Senior Football Championship.

At Fitzgerald Stadium, Killarney they beat Na Gaeil 2-19 to 1-13.

Dingle led 5 nil after 6 minutes. When Paul Geaney registered a 13th minute 2 pointer their lead stood at 8 points to 2. Tom O’Sullivan goaled for Dingle in the 16th minute to extend their advantage to 1-10 to 2 points. Rory Hanafin pulled a goal back for Na Gaeil in the 24th minute but Dingle netted themselves a minute later through Ned Ryan. At the break it was Dingle who were ahead, 2-15 to 1-6.

Na Gaeil got it back to 2-15 to 1-11 with 12 minutes gone into the second period but Dingle kept them at bay. It was 2-16 to 1-11 at the 3/4 stage. Dingle won by 9.

Spa have defeated South Kerry 3-18 to 3-13.

Kenmare Shamrocks got the better of North Kerry in Fitzgerald Stadium, Killarney; 4-15 to 1-12.

Kenmare had led at the break by 2-5 to 0-6, thanks to goals from Jack McCarthy. He firstly netted in the 20th minute, giving his side a 1-4 to 0-5 advantage. His second goal was right on the stroke of half time.

Jack Tangney emulated McCarthy with two goals of his own in the second period. The first of those came in the opening minute of the half to make it 3-5 to 0-7. The second put Kenmare ahead by 4-12 to 1-10 much later in the period. In between JoJo Grimes goaled for North Kerry. That score with 11 minutes to go had made it 3-10 to 1-9. The gap at the end was 12.
