A thrilling summer of athletics action continues as the world’s top athletes head to Lausanne, Switzerland for the next instalment of the Diamond League, a week on from a blockbuster European Championships in Birmingham.
Home favourite and new European 800m champion Audrey Werro will compete in front of her home crowd as the season builds towards the Diamond League Finals, with major competition from world champion Lilian Odira and European bronze medallist Femke Broeders-Bol.
But silver medallist Keely Hodgkinson will miss out, as will Commonwealth and European 1500m champion Georgia Hunter Bell, with both eyeing up a sensational five-way battle in the 800m at the following week’s Diamond League meet in Zurich.
British star Amy Hunt, fresh from a stunning haul of four European gold medals, will line up in the 200m alongside Jamaican legend and two-time world champion in the event, Shericka Jackson.
Elsewhere world record holder Mondo Duplantis competes in the pole vault fresh from a fourth successive European title, reigning world and Olympic champion Rai Benjamin will race for the first and only time this season in his favoured 400m hurdles discipline, and Paris 2024 gold medallist Letsile Tebogo headlines the men’s 200m field.
Here’s everything you need to know.
