Christian Braun and the Denver Nuggets have reached an agreement on a five-year, $125 million contract extension, securing one of the team’s key young contributors for the foreseeable future.
Braun took a major leap in his development last season, appearing in 79 games and averaging 15.4 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 2.6 assists over 33.9 minutes per contest.
The 24-year-old also showed gradual improvement as a perimeter shooter, raising his three-point percentage from 22.2 percent to 29.6 percent.
The extension comes after Denver created additional salary flexibility last offseason by trading Michael Porter Jr. to the Brooklyn Nets in exchange for Cam Johnson, a move that helped clear long-term cap space.
With Braun now locked in, the Nuggets have solidified their core for years to come.
Jamal Murray and Aaron Gordon are both under long-term deals, and Nikola Jokic remains signed for two more seasons, giving Denver continued stability around its MVP centerpiece.
