Toronto Raptors head coach Darko Rajakovic is excited about adding big man Sandro Mamukelashvili to the roster this season (signed two-year, $5.5 million contract).

“Signing Sandro was very important for us this offseason, because we see in him somebody who shares the values of our organization and we see in him somebody who can really compete on a higher level. I believe that he’s gonna get the right opportunity, the right chance that kinda was not consistent with him in his first couple years in the NBA. I believe that he’s ready to make that next jump.
“Just watching him playing EuroBasket, I think he did a really good job. He played out of his natural position. He played more position three, but that’s the great thing about Sandro: he can play any position three-five, but also can bring the ball up the floor. I think he’s gonna give us a lot. And then, he’s really excited to be here in Toronto and I’m sure talking to him you guys will get a chance to sense that as well.”
