Top 2025 NBA Draft prospect Cooper Flagg is scheduled to conduct a private visit with the Dallas Mavericks on June 17, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania.
The visit comes just one week after Flagg’s official meeting with the Mavericks and further signals Dallas’ intention to select the 18-year-old with the No. 1 overall pick on June 25.
Dallas secured the top pick in last week’s NBA Draft Lottery despite finishing 10th in the Western Conference with a 39-43 record.
The Mavericks jumped over multiple teams with worse records, landing the No. 1 selection for the first time in franchise history.
Flagg, a 6-foot-9 forward from Maine, is widely viewed as the consensus top pick in this year’s draft class due to his defensive instincts, perimeter shooting, and high basketball IQ.
During a recent media appearance, Flagg said his focus remains on two-way impact and team success.
The Mavericks’ unexpected lottery win presents a rare opportunity to retool around their stars with a potential franchise cornerstone.
Alongside Flagg, other top-tier prospects expected to be taken early include guards Dylan Harper and VJ Edgecombe, wing Ace Bailey, and big man Derik Queen.
The San Antonio Spurs will select second overall, followed by the Philadelphia 76ers, Charlotte Hornets, and Utah Jazz to round out the top five.
The NBA Draft Combine concluded in mid-May, and the early entry withdrawal deadline is June 15. Round one of the 2025 NBA Draft takes place on June 25, followed by round two on June 26.
