An Old Trafford Regeneration Task Force – organised by minority owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe – confirmed plans to demolish Man Utd’s legendary stadium and build a brand new home on adjacent land.

The Red Devils are hoping their new home will be ready in five years’ time.

Architects at Foster and Partners, who will design the project, said the stadium would feature an umbrella design.

And that is what got some fans talking on social media as a few of them believe that tent surrounding the stadium makes it look like a “circus”.

Some of them even compared it to budget holiday park Butlin’s Minehead, where Man Utd super fan Luke Littler won the UK Open darts.

The Manchester giants are enduring their worst ever Premier League season that has seen them dropping to 14th place in the table.

And some decided to pour some salt in the already existing wounds after seeing the unique design.

One fan tweeted: “Fair play to Manchester United for having the self-awareness to put a giant circus tent around their new stadium.”
