The Boston Celtics will be without several players for Friday’s NBA Cup matchup against the Orlando Magic at the Kia Center.
Jayson Tatum remains sidelined following right Achilles repair, while Xavier Tillman is out for personal reasons. Two-way players Max Shulga and Amari Williams are also unavailable.
Boston enters the game with a 4-5 record and leads East Group B with a 1-0 group record. The team has been relying heavily on Jaylen Brown, who is averaging 27.7 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 4.3 assists over nine games this season.
The Magic have a lighter injury report, with Moritz Wagner recovering from a left knee injury. Orlando holds a 3-5 record and is set to play its first game in East Group B.
Paolo Banchero has been the team’s scoring leader, posting 23.1 points and 9.5 rebounds per game. Franz Wagner is also contributing consistently, averaging 22 points and 5.5 rebounds.
Boston has struggled in recent games, losing two of their last three, including a 103-105 loss to Utah. The Magic are coming off a 112-127 defeat at Atlanta. Both teams have shown inconsistent form, making this matchup unpredictable despite the Celtics’ stronger group standing.
The Celtics have managed a 2-2 road record this season, while Orlando has posted a 2-3 record away from home.
Friday’s tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 PM ET at the Kia Center in Orlando.
