The Chicago Bulls announced Monday that guard Coby White has resumed on-court basketball activities as he continues to recover from a right calf strain. The team said he remains in the ramp-up phase of his rehabilitation and will be re-evaluated in two weeks.
White, 25, did not appear in any preseason games as the Bulls prepared for the 2025–26 campaign. He will miss the regular-season opener against the Detroit Pistons on October 22.
The update marks a positive step for the sixth-year guard, who is entering the final season of his three-year, $36 million contract. Chicago’s medical staff has been cautious with his recovery timeline, prioritizing long-term health as the team looks to build early-season momentum.
White is coming off the best season of his career, averaging 20.4 points, 4.5 assists, and 3.7 rebounds per game while shooting 45.3% from the field and 37% from beyond the arc across 74 appearances. He was a consistent offensive contributor, starting in 73 of those games and playing a key role in the Bulls’ backcourt.
The Bulls will open the regular season with four of their first five games at home, including matchups against Detroit, Atlanta, and Sacramento.
