Bucks vs Celtics injury report: Giannis out for Sunday’s game

The Milwaukee Bucks face the Boston Celtics on Sunday, February 1, 2026, at 3:30 PM ET at TD Garden. Both teams enter the matchup with significant injuries that could impact rotations and strategy.

Milwaukee will be without Giannis Antetokounmpo, who is sidelined with a right calf strain, and Kevin Porter Jr., out with a right oblique strain. Taurean Prince remains unavailable following neck surgery, and Alex Antetokounmpo is inactive as a two-way G League player. Gary Harris is listed as probable with left hamstring soreness.

Boston will miss Jayson Tatum, recovering from right Achilles repair, while Ron Harper Jr. and Max Shulga remain out as G League two-way players. Amari Williams is questionable but has limited recent playing time.

The Bucks have struggled in their last two games, losing 109-99 to the Wizards on January 29 and falling 139-122 to the 76ers on January 27. Milwaukee ranks 12th in the Eastern Conference with an 18-28 record, relying on Ryan Rollins (16.3 PPG) and Kevin Porter Jr. (16.8 PPG) for scoring. Giannis leads the team with 28.0 PPG, 10.0 RPG, and 5.6 APG when available.

Boston enters Sunday coming off a 112-93 win over the Kings and a 117-106 loss to the Hawks. The Celtics hold a 30-18 record, tied for second in the East, with Jaylen Brown leading the team at 29.4 PPG and Payton Pritchard contributing 17.0 PPG and 5.3 APG.

This season, the Bucks defeated the Celtics 116-101 in their only previous matchup on December 11, 2025, in Milwaukee.
