The Milwaukee Bucks have officially extended a qualifying offer to guard Ryan Rollins, making him a restricted free agent this offseason, according to reporting from Eric Nehm of The Athletic.
By doing so, the Bucks retain the right to match any contract offer Rollins might receive from another team.
Rollins began the 2024–25 season on a two-way deal, but his strong performance earned him a promotion to a standard NBA contract in March.
He stepped into a meaningful rotation role, particularly during stretches when Damian Lillard was sidelined with injuries.
The 6-foot-3 guard made the most of his minutes, averaging 6.2 points, 1.9 assists, and 1.9 rebounds over 14.6 minutes per game.
He also impressed with his shooting efficiency, posting a .487 field goal percentage, .408 from three, and .800 from the free throw line.
The Bucks’ qualifying offer to Rollins is projected to be $2.58 million, which is the minimum required to make him a restricted free agent.
This move positions Milwaukee to either retain Rollins by matching a competing offer or to let him walk while maintaining cap flexibility.
Given his age and solid production in limited action, the Bucks may view Rollins as a valuable developmental piece for their backcourt going forward.
