The Charlotte Hornets confirmed in a team statement that Brandon Miller’s shoulder injury has been diagnosed as a subluxation, or partial dislocation.

The team said that Miller will continue his rehabilitation program and is scheduled to be re-evaluated in two weeks.

NBA insider Chris Haynes previously reported that Miller sought a second opinion after the initial diagnosis was made on October 27.

While the injury will keep him out for an extended stretch, the Hornets indicated that surgery will not be required at this time, offering a positive outlook for his recovery.

Miller, the No. 2 overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft, suffered the injury during Charlotte’s second game of the season.

The setback came just after a strong opening performance in which the 22-year-old forward put up 25 points and seven assists.

Injuries have already disrupted Miller’s early career – he appeared in 74 games as a rookie but was limited to just 27 games last season due to a right wrist injury that required surgery.

The Hornets will play six games over the next two weeks, all of which Miller is expected to miss.

Charlotte currently sits at 3–4 after improving on last season’s 19-win campaign, but the team will have to navigate the coming stretch without one of its key offensive weapons.
