The Portland Trail Blazers have officially exercised their team option on guard Rayan Rupert, securing his services for the upcoming season.

This decision means that, provided the team fully guarantees his contract by the July 1 deadline, Rupert will be under contract for $2.2 million in the 2025–26 NBA season.

Rupert, a 6-foot-6 guard, appeared in 52 games last season for Portland, contributing as a role player off the bench.

Throughout the season, he averaged 3.0 points and 1.3 rebounds while playing roughly 8.8 minutes per game.

His performance showcased flashes of potential, especially given his relative youth and experience level.

Portland selected Rupert with a second-round pick in the 2023 NBA Draft. Originally from France, the 21-year-old guard is viewed as a developmental prospect with a versatile skill set.

By picking up his option, the Trail Blazers are indicating their commitment to his continued growth within their roster and giving him the opportunity to earn a larger role shortly.
