Portland Trail Blazers are not expected to make any immediate roster moves and will probably wait until the All-Star break has passed before addressing personnel decisions, according to Joe Freeman of The Oregonian.
One factor influencing the timeline involves the team’s two-way players. Sidy Cissoko has appeared in 49 games, while Caleb Love has played in 44, putting both close to the 50-game maximum allowed under two-way contracts.
If either player reaches that threshold and the team wants them available for additional NBA games, Portland would have to convert them to standard deals.
However, the Blazers currently carry the maximum 15 players on standard contracts, meaning a corresponding move would be required.
If a roster spot needs to be cleared, Rayan Rupert and Matisse Thybulle are viewed as the most likely candidates to be moved, Freeman notes.
Another possible route would be for Portland to wait for a veteran player to become available on waivers and then pursue a signing once the break concludes.
