Bill Belichick, 74, has shut down rumors suggesting that his girlfriend, Jordon Hudson, 25, is vying for a behind-the-scenes role with the University of North Carolina football team.
The UNC head coach has faced intense scrutiny over his nearly 50-year age gap with Hudson, who is a beauty pageant contestant and former cheerleader.
Questions over Hudson’s involvement with the Tar Heels emerged after reports revealed that Belichick had asked UNC staff to copy her on emails sent to him.
In a new interview with , Belichick confirmed Hudson has no official role in the football program, as the university has stated in the past. “The way the story was picked up was a long way from that,” he said.
“Like, ‘She’s trying to be the general manager of the team,’ and it’s so ridiculous.”
He continued: “I sent an email when I got here and I said, ‘Can you please forward any requests to Jordon about my personal appearances so that I can work and coordinate them outside the university?’ Didn’t have anything to do with the university.”
Belichick claimed the email was subsequently leaked and characterized as evidence that Jordon is “involved in every single thing that I do and she’s copied on every email,” which he called “just a flat-out lie.”
When asked about Hudson’s involvement in his work, Belichick said: “There are some things that she helps me schedule or look at. It’s not North Carolina stuff.”
A university spokesperson confirmed to the WSJ that Hudson has no football-related “responsibilities.”
Belichick took over as head football coach at UNC in December 2024, following 24 seasons with the New England Patriots, where he won six Super Bowl titles.
He and Hudson went public with their relationship in June 2024, having reportedly started dating the previous year. The pair are said to have first met on a flight in 2021, when Belichick signed Hudson’s textbook.
Hudson’s management of Belichick’s media presence and real estate portfolio has only amplified scrutiny of the couple. During a now-infamous CBS Sunday Morning interview, host Tony Dokoupil asked Belichick how he and Hudson met. Hudson, seated just off-camera, suddenly interjected with a firm, “We’re not talking about this,” in a moment that quickly went viral.
Belichick has made it clear that Hudson does not manage any business tied to his role at UNC, but rather his personal brand and business dealings through TCE Rights Management LLC. She is also Chief Operating Officer for Belichick Productions, which is the coaching legend’s personal brand and production entity.
Before his high-profile relationship with Hudson, Belichick dated Linda Holliday, the executive director of the Bill Belichick Foundation, for 16 years until their split in September 2023. He shares three kids with his ex-wife, Debby Belichick, to whom he was married from 1977 to 2006.
Hudson previously dated 64-year-old healthcare executive Joshua L. Zuckerman.
