Belinda Bencic is Wimbledon’s last mom standing.

The 28-year-old Swiss equalled her best Grand Slam result, and pushed into her first Wimbledon quarterfinal on Monday with a 7-6(4) 6-4 victory over Ekaterina Alexandrova.

Bencic is 15 months removed from giving birth to her baby Bella. She is the last remaining mom of the nine who started the main draw this year at Wimbledon.

Bencic is into her fourth career Grand Slam quarterfinal – her first as a mom, and her first since 2021.

Moms at Wimbledon, 2025:

Belinda Bencic – reached qf and still alive
Elina Svitolina – lost round 3
Naomi Osaka – lost round 3
Victoria Azarenka – lost round 1
Petra Kvitova – lost round 1
Taylor Townsend – lost round 1
Tatjana Maria – lost round 1
Anastasia Sevastova – lost round 1
Yanina Wickmayer – lost round 1

Only three moms have won major titles in Open Era history – Margaret Court, Evonne Goolagong and Kim Clijsters.

It was a difficult victory to close. After falling to Alexandrova and winning just three games at Bad Homburg, Bencic was nearly home, but the Russian hit a bevy of winners to save five match points and prolong the match.

Undeterred, the Swiss broke in the next game, converting her sixth match point and letting the emotions wash over her.

Bencic, the 2013 Wimbledon Girls’ champion, will face either Mirra Andreeva or Emma Navarro next at Wimbledon.
