According to Bennett Durando, interim general manager Ben Tenzer is currently the frontrunner to be named the Denver Nuggets’ full-time general manager.
Since the dismissal of former GM Calvin Booth, Tenzer has taken over all general managerial responsibilities and has reportedly handled the transition with competence and professionalism.
Team president Josh Kroenke has publicly praised Tenzer’s work during this interim period, further solidifying his status as the top internal candidate.
While Tenzer appears to have the inside track for the permanent position, Durando also mentions another name in the mix – Minnesota Timberwolves general manager Matt Lloyd.
If the Nuggets ultimately decide not to promote Tenzer, Lloyd is seen as the most viable external option.
However, based on the current direction and feedback from the organization, Tenzer seems to have earned the confidence of team leadership and is considered the most likely choice to take over the GM role full-time.
