FC Bayern Munich continued its late-season surge by defeating AS Monaco 91-82 on Thursday at SAP Garden, extending its winning streak to four games and tightening the EuroLeague play-in race. The German side improved to 12-15, while Monaco dropped to 15-12 and slid deeper into a five-game losing streak.

The matchup looked different from their previous meeting, when Monaco handed Bayern a heavy defeat during a difficult road stretch for the German club. Under returning coach Svetislav Pesic, Bayern has reshaped its identity around defense and balanced scoring.

Defense once again set the tone, as Bayern limited a Monaco team averaging more than 90 points per game to just 82. The visitors led only three times, all during the second quarter, before the hosts regained control with disciplined half-court execution.

Bayern’s offense relied on spacing and quick ball movement, finishing with 21 assists and eight turnovers while shooting 45.5 percent from three-point range. Andi Obst led the way with 19 points and five triples, consistently punishing defensive rotations.

Isiaha Mike added 12 points, while Oscar da Silva and Neno Dimitrijevic contributed 11 each to maintain scoring balance across multiple lineups. Wenyen Gabriel delivered interior presence with 10 points and eight rebounds, helping the hosts compete on the glass despite Monaco’s size.

Monaco leaned heavily on Mike James, who finished with 30 points on efficient shooting and kept the visitors within reach during stretches of the second half. However, limited scoring support proved costly, as only Nemanja Nedovic and Jaron Blossomgame joined him in double figures with 12 points each.

Bayern’s defensive scheme forced difficult perimeter looks, holding Monaco to 10-of-30 from three-point distance and creating 14 turnovers that disrupted offensive rhythm. The German club also controlled momentum late by executing in transition and limiting second-chance opportunities.

With Pesic guiding a 7-3 run since his return, Bayern has moved back into postseason contention and sits just three games behind Monaco with 11 rounds remaining.
