Bam Adebayo might leave the Miami Heat in no time.
After playing for eight seasons with the Heat, it was not the first time that Bam Adebayo had his exit rumors.
However, it became different this time since they ended with a 37-45 win-loss record, 10th in the East, resulting in first-round elimination after they had been swept in their matchup against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
The franchise is considering that Adebayo’s trade value would benefit their rebuilding future until 2027, if they choose to pursue different styles of having younger players.
As multiple reports came amid exit rumors, there is another statement from the former NBA player Kendrick Perkins that he believes Adebayo will not be in a Heat jersey at the end of this year.
“Bam Adebayo will not be in a Miami Heat jersey at the end of this year,” Perkins said on Road Trippin’, stating he believes the Heat’s cornerstone is headed for the exit sooner rather than later. “He will not finish the season in Miami. I believe it’s time. Miami is nowhere close to being a playoff team. I never want to doubt Erik Spoelstra, but their roster stinks. Bam is at the point where he needs to be on a contender.”
The 27-year-old big man has been a product and the main core of the Miami since he got drafted in 2017, leading the franchise into two NBA finals appearances along with Jimmy Butler and earning all-star selections from the previous years.
With Butler no longer in the Heat’s arms, they struggle to find consistency in winning games, but even with his presence, they have not won at least one game in the first round of the playoffs.
Nonetheless, the 6-foot-9 two-way big man has still fulfilled his role with Miami and played for 78 games last season, where he averaged 18.1 points, 9.6 boards, and 4.3 assists.
