
Ballymac are into the final of the AIB Munster Junior Club Football Championship.
They’ve won at Clonmel Óg from Tipperary by 4-12 to 2-9.
Ballymac led by 3 points to 1 after ten minutes. After 14 minutes the best move of the game-at that stage-afforded Ballymac a second goal chance of the encounter but Donal Daly was denied by a great save. Ballymac were not to be denied two minutes later as Jack Joy netted to give his side a 1-3 to 0-1 advantage. Ballymac could have been further ahead but for a number of scoring attempts which dropped short. Ballymac had a deserved 5 point leading just minutes out from half-time, at 1-6 to 0-4. At the break it was 1-7 to 0-6.
A Clonmel Og goal early in the second period -scored by Darragh McVicker-cut the gap to one. Ballymac responded with a goal of their own to make it 2-7 1-6 thanks to a Jack Joy penalty. A 3rd Ballymac goal-scored by Donal Daly- had them ahead by 3-7 to 1-6 by the 40 minute mark. Just shy of the 3/4s mark Clonmel Og were awarded a penalty but Darragh McVicker was denied by Christy Leen. That kept the score at 3-8 to 1-6. Donal Daly nabbed his second goal of the encounter to make it 4-9 to 1-7. Clonmel Og found the net late on but lost by 9.
