  • Jorginho to leave

Arsenal ace Jorginho is enjoying a holiday in Rio de Janeiro – while also supposedly meeting with his potential new employers.

The midfielder is set to leave the Gunners when his deal expires at the end of the season.

And reports in Brazil claim the Italy international will meet with Flamengo chiefs and visit their training ground ahead of potentially signing for the club this summer.

That means the North Londoners may need a new midfielder in the summer.

  • Gabriel Magalhaes interest

Arsenal are bracing for a bid from Al-Nassr who are ready to make a renewed attempt to sign Gabriel Magalhaes.

According to GiveMeSport, Gabriel is likely to be tempted by a £16.8million a year package – that would see him treble his current earnings at the Emirates.

The Gunners would be extremely reluctant to sell and break up the strongest defensive partnership in the Premier League.

The North Londoners will not even consider an offer below £100m – which would represent a world record fee for a centre-back.

  • Isak unlikely for Arsenal

When asked about Arsenal’s interest, Isak underlined his happiness at Newcastle.

Isak told Sport Witness: “There’s not much to say, really.

“I’ve commented on my situation and my security in Newcastle several times.

“It’s been written how much I love the city and the club, how well I feel there.

“I’m not thinking about the future. I just want to perform for Newcastle.

“Now we won the Carabao cup, but we want to finish strong and qualify for the Champions League. That’s where my focus lies.”

  • Fans want to nick Nico

Arsenal have reportedly made contact with Nico Williams’ reps over a potential transfer in what could be one of the coups of the summer.

Mikel Arteta has singled out Athletic Bilbao bright spark Williams as a top target for his side.

Williams has a release clause in his contract with Bilbao which is understood to sit somewhere £48million and £67m.

  • Arsenal monitor free-agent Sane

Arsenal are expected to be busy in the summer transfer window with at least one striker and a wide forward the top priority.

Alexander Isak is seen as the dream option for the centre-forward position and it would appear they have earmarked Leroy Sane for the other.

According to Sky Germany, the Gunners are continuing to monitor Sane’s situation at Bayern Munich ahead of a potential FREE transfer.

  •  Sak of cash

Arsenal are set to open formal talks with Bukayo Saka over a new contract as the forward enters the final two years of his current deal.

The 23-year-old England international signed his current contract – understood to be worth a minimum of £10m per season – in 2022.

For now, Saka is focusing on his long-awaited return to fitness after his hamstring operation.

He has been unavailable since December after sustaining a serious hamstring tear in the victory over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park – an injury that eventually required surgery.

  • Cunha Gooner

Arsenal’s prospective new sporting director Andrea Berta is keen on 25-year-old Brazil striker Matheus Cunha.

The Wolves star has a release clause of £62.5m.

  • Gunners keen on Kean

Arsenal are keeping tabs on Everton flop Moise Kean in their battle to finally add some firepower up front.

The 25-year-old has been thriving this season with Fiorentina.

He has already registered 20 goals and three assists in 34 appearances across all competitions.

That is a far cry from the £44million-rated forward’s Goodison Park days, in which he scored just four goals in 39 matches following his move from Juventus in 2019.

  • Arsenal want £100m for Gabriel

Arsenal are steeling themselves for a bid from Al Nassr who are ready to make a renewed attempt to sign Gabriel Magalhaes.

According to GiveMeSport, Gabriel is likely to be tempted by a £16.8m a year package – that would see him treble his current earnings.

Arsenal would be extremely reluctant to sell and break-up the strongest defensive partnership in the Prem.

The Gunners will not even consider an offer below £100m – which would represent a world record fee for a centre-half.

  • Campbell speaks about Arsenal ‘winning’ mentality

Sol Campbell has explained the difference between life at Arsenal and Tottenham after making the move across North London.

He told Stick to Football: “You just feel the quality as soon as you step through – you feel the quality. You feel like this is set up to win, you know, the possibility to win.

“And the characters in the room are, you just feel it, that’s what it’s all about. You’ve got winners in there, you’ve got guys who are working hard, you’ve got top players who are still doing just 15, 20 minutes at the end.

“That’s what it’s all about and no one is telling them to do that, they’re all doing it because they’ve got pride in their game and they’re quality players.”

  • Arsenal could make Grealish move

The Gunners could try to sign Jack Grealish following his fall from favour at Manchester City.

Journalist Ben Jacobs told Highbury Squad on YouTube: “I think Jack Grealish has a massive decision to make because he’s heading into a World Cup year, and it feels like he’s very distant from Thomas Tuchel’s plans.

“I’m not aware of the price, and part of that is because, believe it or not, Pep Guardiola is, ironically because he’s not starting Grealish week in week out, the driving force at this point, in keeping Grealish.

“Obviously, there’s nothing yet linking Arsenal and Grealish. But as you rightly say, there might be a deal there to be had. And I would guess Manchester City, who don’t stand in their players’ ways would value Grealish’s outgoing, similar to Raheem Sterling, in that kind of £45million mark.”

  • Gunners make bid for midfielder

According to a report from Spain, Arsenal have made a £58million offer to sign Bruno Guimaraes this summer, who is viewed as a main target for Arteta and co.

The Gunners see Guimaraes as ‘the perfect midfielder to raise the quality of their squad’, with Arteta personally believing the Newcastle star ‘would be a significant upgrade in midfield’.

Incoming sporting director Andrea Berta will reportedly be given a £300m war chest to bring in a No2 keeper along with a left-back, defensive midfielder, left-winger and a striker, potential Alexander Isak or Benjamin Sesko.

  • Pundit opposes White England return

Thomas Tuchel has been urged to ban Arsenal’s Ben White from England duty despite the full-back making himself available for national team selection again.

White has four England caps but has not played for his country since March 2022 against Ivory Coast.

The full-back was picked for the World Cup squad in Qatar that winter but flew home after the group stage, with reports later suggesting that a falling out with Gareth Southgate’s assistant Steve Holland was to blame.

He has not played since and Chris Waddle believes the defender should not return.

He told 10Bet: “I wouldn’t bring Ben White back in. He said he didn’t want to be picked again and he spat the dummy out, didn’t he? So now he’s alright to play. So, he wants to pick and choose his England career?

“Listen, you would never say you never want to play for England. I would never have said that. I would have played if I was 50.

“So, modern-day players who say that, I’m not being picked, so don’t pick me again, all of a sudden become available.

“For the time he didn’t play, he didn’t want to play, I would say, ‘Well, we’ll give you the same ban’.

“So if it was a year or two years, then I’d consider you in two years’ time. For me, you should never say no.

“Now, OK, if you don’t get on with the manager and you don’t like the style of play, you wouldn’t be picked anyway. But when you get a late call-up, you don’t say no.”

Former Arsenal chief Keith Edelman has urged the club to not consider plans to expand the Emirates Stadium in an exclusive interview with SunSport.

  • Gabriel interest ‘genuine’

Saudi Arabian side Al-Nassr’s interest in Gabriel is supposedly “genuine”.

But Arsenal are ready to hold out for £100m and the club are determined to keep him in North London.

The mega-rich side are reportedly ready to triple his salary while Gabriel could be handed an improved contract to ensure he stays put.

  • Jorginho nears exit

Jorginho is enjoying a holiday in Rio de Janeiro – while also supposedly meeting with his potential new employers.

The Italian midfielder is set to leave the Gunners when his deal expires at the end of the season.

And reports in Brazil say that Jorginho will meet with Flamengo chiefs and visit their training ground ahead of potentially signing for the club this summer.

  • Real talk

Mikel Merino has revealed what Arsenal’s players are chatting about ahead of their blockbuster Champions League tie against Real Madrid.

Merino said: “They ask me what the stadium is like, what the atmosphere is like, if the aura surrounding Real Madrid in the Champions League and their comebacks are true.

“And of course, when they’ve done it so many times, that’s the image people have of them.

“That aura that Real Madrid has in the Champions League, of comebacks, of heroics, is no coincidence, when they do it so often.”

  • Arteta failed by the board

In an exclusive to SunSport, ex-Arsenal chief Keith Edelman has slammed the current hierarchy for letting the club down in the hunt to end their 21-year wait for Prem glory.

  • EXCLUSIVE: Why Henry was sold

Former Arsenal managing director Keith Edelman has told SunSport about why the likes of Thierry Henry and Patrick Vieira were sold.

He defended his decisions in the transfer market, saying that “replacing world-class players is very difficult.”

  • Saudis target Gabriel

Arsenal star Gabriel is a target for Saudi Arabian side Al-Nassr this summer.

The mega-rich side are reportedly ready to offer the centre-back a stunning wage of nearly £17-a-year, more than three times his current salary.

His contract does not expire until 2027, but Arsenal are looking to tie him down to an improved deal.

  • Arteta on the ropes

William Gallas reckons Mikel Arteta must win the Premier League title next season or he will be sacked.

He told Spin Genie: “Arteta is running out of energy, but that is normal.

“He brought Arsenal back into the top five and then managed to fight for a title, when you challenge for a title it takes up energy.

“Now after three years it’s normal to be really tired, it’s part of the job.

“But normally after three years of fighting for the title you would win one, but he’s going to have one more chance next season.

“I think the club will give him what he wants, then if he doesn’t win it that could be the end of his time at the club.”

  • ‘Arteta cost Arsenal the title’

Former Gunners defender William Gallas has blamed Mikel Arteta for Arsenal falling 12 points behind Liverpool in the title race.

He told Spin Genie: “I think it was the best opportunity for Arsenal to win the league this year, especially after what they did in the last two seasons.

“Nobody expected Liverpool to be in that position because they had a new manager and normally with the new manager you need some time to see the best of the team. But no.

“Arne Slot, what he did with Liverpool is just incredible. After a few games they were already on top of the league. As weeks went by they showed that they would fight for the title even early on.

“Even at the beginning of the season, I still thought Arsenal would be very close and they would win the league.

“I think Mikel Arteta made a few mistakes during the season and it cost Arsenal the title.

“Even if they had injured players, we know that can happen, you have to have a strong squad and manage your team well, it’s about the rotation of players.”

  • Tierney’s struggles

Kieran Tierney has revealed leaving his hometown and boyhood club of Celtic for Arsenal in 2019 was a tough moment in his career.

He said: “I moved away from home for the first time when I came here, I’ve played abroad for a year, so I enjoy learning different things and putting myself out of my comfort zone.

“Last year for example at Real Sociedad, where the manager doesn’t speak English, it’s a new league, a new culture.

“But to be honest the hardest jump was moving away from home for the first time and coming to London in 2019.

“I was a lot more mature by the time I went to Spain, and I’ve grown up a lot in the last few years.”

  • Dowman impresses

Chelsea and England legend Max Dowman caught the eye of John Terry in a recent academy fixture.

The 15-year-old midfielder has been training with Arsenal’s first-team in recent months.

Terry said: “He is a top, top player. He was taking the ball on the half turn, drifting away from players, looking back and a couple of our boys went and put it on him a little bit.

“It was good to see. Dowman is a very, very good player.”
