Arsenal underage player Ceadach O’Neill will continue to play for Northern Ireland at international level.
The FAI had been hoping to convince the Derry native to switch allegiance to the Republic of Ireland.
The 18-year-old already has two senior caps for Northern Ireland, and manager Michael O’Neill has named him in his squad for the upcoming Nations League window.

The Northern Ireland boss says he’s “upset” that the FAI approached the teenager about a potential switch to the Republic of Ireland.
O’Neill has already been capped twice by Northern Ireland and he’d no longer be able to change allegiance if he features twice more.
