Alex Len has agreed to a multi-year contract with EuroLeague club Real Madrid, NBA insider Michael Scotto reported on Tuesday. The 32-year-old center, who was the fifth overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft, brings 12 seasons of NBA experience to the Spanish powerhouse.

Len has played for the Suns, Hawks, Kings, Raptors, Wizards, and Lakers, averaging 6.7 points and 5.3 rebounds per game over 690 career regular-season appearances. His new deal with Real Madrid includes an NBA opt-out clause for next season.

Earlier this year, Len signed an Exhibit 9 contract with the New York Knicks on September 16, but was waived before the start of the regular season on October 18. Following his release, Real Madrid moved quickly to secure his services.

The veteran center posted career highs of 11.1 points per game and 6.6 rebounds per game during the 2018–19 season with Atlanta. His size and experience are expected to bolster Madrid’s frontcourt, which features players like Edy Tavares, Trey Lyles, Usman Garuba, and Izan Almansa.

Real Madrid is currently 12th in the EuroLeague standings with a 3-4 record, having struggled on the road while remaining undefeated at home. Len’s addition strengthens their rotation as they look to climb the standings and contend for the playoffs.
