The Oklahoma City Thunder have reached an agreement with rookie guard Ajay Mitchell on a new three-year contract worth $9 million, following the team’s decision to decline his previous team option for the 2025–26 season.

This new deal secures Mitchell’s place on the main roster moving forward.

Mitchell, selected 38th overall in the 2024 NBA Draft, initially signed a Two-Way contract but earned a full standard NBA contract after impressing the Thunder enough to convert his deal in February.

During his first season, Mitchell appeared in 36 regular-season games, contributing solidly off the bench.

He posted averages of 6.5 points, 1.9 rebounds, and 1.8 assists over 16.6 minutes per game, showing promise as a steady, developing contributor in the Thunder’s backcourt rotation.
