EuroLeague Head Coaches Board executive director Goran Sasic reflected on a special occasion for Panathinaikos as several important figures from the club’s history gathered in Athens.

Sasic attended Thursday’s EuroLeague game between Panathinaikos and Fenerbahce, which also marked a notable return for EuroLeague president and former Panathinaikos star Dejan Bodiroga.

Bodiroga visited the arena following the restoration of his commemorative banner, bringing renewed attention to his contributions to the Greek club.

The occasion also involved other prominent figures associated with Panathinaikos, including Zeljko Obradovic, Dimitris Diamantidis, Fragkiskos Alvertis and Mike Batiste.

Speaking to Nova TV, Sasic emphasized the significance of seeing these individuals together again.

“It’s the first time that Dejan Bodiroga, Zeljko Obradovic, Dimitris Diamantidis, Fragkiskos Alvertis, and Mike Batiste are here again, and we have only coach Obradovic and Despoina Giannakopoulos in the same roles.

“So I think that her late husband, Pavlos, will be smiling from heaven. For me, that’s the meaning of this day.”
