Several EuroLeague players expressed their support for Anadolu Efes Istanbul guard Mike James on social media after the veteran suffered a non-contact injury to his lower right leg during Thursday’s Round 3 matchup against Crvena Zvezda.

The incident occurred with 2:40 remaining in the third quarter, when James accelerated toward a loose ball before suddenly collapsing to the floor without making contact with another player.

The 36-year-old immediately grabbed his lower right leg and required medical assistance before eventually being carried off the court on a stretcher.

The nature of the incident initially raised concerns about a possible Achilles injury, although an official diagnosis was not immediately available following his departure.

Messages wishing James a recovery quickly began appearing on X, with several current and former EuroLeague players reacting to the situation.

Barcelona guard Justin Robinson, Dubai Basketball forward Jaron Blossomgame, ASVEL forward Nate Sestina and former EuroLeague guard Charles Jenkins were among those who publicly expressed their support.

Blossomgame shares a particularly close connection with James, having spent four seasons alongside the American guard at AS Monaco between 2022 and 2026. Both players departed the French organization during the summer.
