Here’s Dallas Wings guard Arike Ogunbowale on being more intense/aggressive both as a team and individually during Wednesday’s 108-100 First Round Game 2 overtime home win vs. the Golden State Valkyries (scored WNBA playoff record 45 points after only taking 7 shots in Game 1/helped force OT by knocking down a game-tying step-back corner three-pointer with 4.1 seconds left/series tied 1-1).
*Game 2 stats: 7 rebounds/4 assists/3 steals/12-23 FG/5-8 3-PT/16-18 FT/+2 +/-*
(via Dallas Wings):
“We just wanted to come out with a different intensity. We felt like we got pushed around out there when we played in San Francisco. And especially me personally, I don’t feel like I was aggressive. I don’t feel like I was trying to get to the hole. I just was being really passive and wasn’t playing my game, so I know I wanted to come out and just be really, really aggressive. And I mean, I didn’t know what I would score. I just knew that I was either gonna… I was gon’ shoot regardless, because I just feel like seven shots isn’t enough to win [in the] playoffs and I have to be aggressive. Whether it’s going in or not, we have rebounders. I just have to be aggressive, and that was my mindset for this game.”
