The Sacramento Kings and Milwaukee Bucks are among the NBA organizations expressing serious interest in Detroit Pistons center Jalen Duren as his contract situation remains unresolved.
Despite inquiries from rival franchises, Detroit has continued to reject potential sign-and-trade discussions involving the young big man.
Sacramento has been identified as one of Duren’s interested suitors, although the Kings have not held conversations with the Pistons regarding a possible transaction since late June.
Milwaukee has also emerged among the teams monitoring the situation, but Detroit has shown little willingness to explore moving its starting center.
Duren currently has a fully guaranteed five-year, $200 million offer available from the Pistons, with Thursday’s 11:59 p.m. ET deadline approaching.
Alternatively, he could accept a $9.6 million qualifying offer for one season and become an unrestricted free agent next summer.
Detroit’s reluctance to entertain trade inquiries reflects the organization’s stated expectation that Duren will remain with the franchise for the upcoming campaign.
