The Detroit Pistons have increased their offer to Jalen Duren as negotiations over a new long-term contract continue.
Detroit has put a five-year, $200 million proposal on the table, sources confirmed to The Athletic. The latest figure represents a $10 million increase from the Pistons’ previously reported five-year, $190 million offer.
The proposed contract also contains a weight clause, adding another condition to the potential agreement.
Despite Detroit improving its offer, Duren has not accepted the deal. The center has reportedly been seeking a contract worth more than $200 million and has rejected the Pistons’ latest proposal.
Other teams are monitoring the situation. The Sacramento Kings have previously been linked with Duren, while the Milwaukee Bucks and two additional teams have also shown interest in pursuing the center.
With the two sides yet to reach an agreement, the negotiations could affect Duren’s immediate availability. If the situation remains unresolved, he could miss the beginning of training camp next week.
Duren also faces an October 1 deadline to accept his qualifying offer.
