Dubai Basketball suffered a narrow 98–95 overtime defeat to Real Madrid in the EuroLeague SuperCup semifinal. Despite the loss, Dubai competed throughout the game and put itself in a position to secure the victory, showing plenty of positive signs against one of Europe’s top teams.
After the game, Dubai forward Jaron Blossomgame reflected on the performance, emphasizing that the team is still in the early stages of building chemistry and adapting to a new system.
“It was a tough game tonight. I think we played great in stretches. Obviously, it’s one you want to win. We played well for a long part of the game. But it’s early. We’re still trying to get accustomed to the new players and the new system. I think we did a lot of things well tonight. Hats off to them — they made shots down the stretch”, said Jaron.
Even though Dubai lost, this game showed team had great potential and they are still in the process of making chemistry.
“It is still early, but we are learning and we showed we can be on the good track. It was a tough loss, but it was a good game for both sides. I think we had a chance to win. Nothing was really missing. TLC (Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot) hit a tough shot there at the end when we were up three, but we put ourselves in a position to win the game. We played great, like I said, for the majority of the game. They just made a few more plays than we did at the end of the game. That’s basketball. It happens. We’ll watch the film, get better and try to win one against Fener”.
