The Chicago Bulls have completed Tiago Splitter’s coaching staff for the 2026-27 season, bringing in several new assistants while promoting multiple members already within the organization.
Wes Unseld Jr. will return for his third season as a Bulls assistant, while Blake Ahearn, Jamelle McMillan, Rex Kalamian, Jonah Herscu and former Bulls big man Taj Gibson have joined Splitter’s staff.
Gibson’s appointment marks the beginning of his NBA coaching career following 17 seasons as a player.
He spent more than seven seasons with Chicago after the Bulls selected him 26th overall in the 2009 NBA Draft.
Gibson finished his playing career with averages of 8.3 points, 5.7 rebounds and 1.0 blocks across 1,012 games.
Ahearn arrives after previously serving as an assistant with the Memphis Grizzlies and as head coach of the Austin Spurs, whom he guided to the 2018 NBA G League championship.
McMillan most recently worked with the Detroit Pistons and their G League affiliate, while Kalamian joins after three seasons as a Milwaukee Bucks assistant.
Herscu also returns to Chicago after previously working for the organization as a video intern. He most recently coached the Rip City Remix and was named head coach of the Romanian men’s national team in August.
The Bulls also promoted Martin Rancik to Senior Player Development Coach and named Jordan Brink Assistant Coach/Director of Player Development.
Brink spent last season as an assistant with the defending NBA champion New York Knicks.
Chicago made additional changes to its video staff, elevating Jeremiah Bonsu and Micah Burno while adding Brandon Leftwich, Delvon Johnson and Jayden Hardaway as video coordinators.
