Tyrique Jones says there is no lingering hostility between him and Kendrick Nunn following their heated confrontation during the Greek League finals in June.
The Olympiacos Piraeus center addressed the incident during the club’s media day ahead of the new season, making it clear that he considers his dispute with the Panathinaikos AKTOR Athens guard finished.
“You know, I don’t have anything bad towards him, and we just leave it at that,” Jones remarked.
“We’re men. We’re going to move past it. There’s nothing. Whatever happened in the past happened, and now we’re just moving forward.”
The confrontation became one of the most discussed moments of the Greek finals and eventually resulted in financial penalties for both players. Jones received a €100,000 fine, while Nunn was fined €50,000.
Jones also discussed another significant Olympiacos storyline from the offseason – Thomas Walkup’s departure.
After a complicated summer in which Olympiacos initially resisted losing the guard, Walkup eventually left the club and signed with Dubai Basketball.
Despite the circumstances surrounding the exit, Jones said he holds no resentment toward his former teammate.
“You know, I’m happy for him. I don’t have no bad feelings towards whatever he did,” the center explained.
“It’s the best thing for him, and I’m happy for him. I wish him all the best and great success.”
